There’s a heavyweight fight rumored with this summer, and it is a large one. Based on MMAjunkie.com, former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem is expected to come back to the cage at UFC 164, which takes place August 31 at Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI. And his rumored opponent is none other than heavyweight banger Travis Browne, although this struggle is still far from official. Should it materialize, though, expect this to be the co-main occasion for UFC 164 as it’s definitely among the greatest battles of the summer. Overeem, who was pumped out by Antonio»Bigfoot» Silva at UFC 156, was set to return to action against Junior dos Santos in UFC 160 but had to pull out because of injuries, but now healthy, he will seem to get back into title contention by taking out the rising Browne, who also has a recent loss to Silva. This is a fairly even matchup but I do prefer Browne to win the fight, and I think he can acquire it . However, Overeem has all the hype and people support behind him , even though he lost to»Bigfoot,» I still expect him to open as the favorite in this struggle, possibly from the -200 range, together with the comeback on Browne being +150. And if that is the case, then I’ll certainly be recommending a play on Browne, who is coming from a KO win over veteran Gabriel Gonzaga. Another bet to goal with this fight is going to be that it does not go to conclusion, as man has the capability to knock one another out, so definitely consider creating a play on this prop if it is under -300 come fight night. Lauzon vs. Johnson Booked For UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 The UFC now booked a lightweight bout between Massachusetts native Joe Lauzon and Michael Johnson to the upcoming UFC on FOX Sports 1 card, which takes place August 17 in Boston, MA. The battle will probably be a preliminary card bout. This is an excellent fight between two of the exciting fighters in the UFC lightweight division so kudos to UFC matchmaker Joe Silva for reserving it. For Lauzon, it is an opportunity to redeem himself after losing to Jim Miller in a war in UFC 155, while Johnson really needs to bounce back big time after suffering back-to-back defeats to Myles Jury and Reza Madadi. This is a competitive fight if it stays standing but when it strikes the floor then Lauzon, who is a BJJ ace, will have a massive advantage over Johnson, who has a very inadequate ground game. As such, I anticipate Lauzon to start at about -230 or with the launching comeback on Johnson being approximately +170, although things may easily change if the public decides they like Johnson to triumph. Personally, I believe this is a very good matchup for Lauzon so I would predict him to triumph and I certainly will be targeting him to get a wager this summer, as well as targeting the Lauzon via entry prop.
